Handling massive amounts of email in your inbox
Scobleizer writes about cleaning up your inbox. Receiving massive amounts of email is a problem. Which are important, what should you do about it?
Even if you count out the spam flood I still get a lot of email. Scobleizer quotes David Allen, stating that the only way to handle it is to take care of every email making sure that your inbox is kept empty. My own experiences say the same thing.
I use a lot of filters and rules to sort list emails and newsletters (internal and external, the ones I still haven't redirected to Bloglines) making sure that if something important arrives it either stays in the top folder (the original Inbox) or ends up in folders that I watch carefully every day.
Of course I have one account for my job related email and one for my personal email, anything else would be hysterical. ;)
In that way I can keep on top of it. I would love to go to one of those David Allen seminars I think.
